Jackson Memorial Perdue Medical Center is a long-term-care facility located on a beautiful 11-acre campus in South Dade. The medical center is a licensed, 163-bed skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility. We provide care for a diverse cultural population of younger and older adults.
Summary Buyer ensures review of requisitions, preparation of bid invitations, analysis of bids, recommendation of awards and preparation of purchase orders. Duties include communication with vendors and departments on purchasing, shipping, receiving and invoicing problems and processes.
Responsibilities Generates routine purchase order profile reports and other reports as requested by the Administrator. Develops tracking systems to monitor and ensure the accuracy of information needed for requisitioned, budgetary, and reporting purposes. Prepares a combined statistical/financial report on a monthly basis reflecting monthly and year-to-date expenditures of Blanket Purchase Orders and Small Purchase Orders. Utilizes computer software to record this data for report generation and analysis. Prepares and maintains statistical reports essential to the procurement process. Monitors service maintenance agreements and ensures facility compliance of licensers and permits. Assumes responsibility for reviewing, auditing and responding to expiring blanket purchase orders, processing, obtaining proper information from department supervisors, and submission of requisitions for renewal of blanket purchase orders. Verifies and codes packing slips, delivery slips, etc., of all merchandise and goods received at facility. Demonstrates behaviors of service excellence and CARE values (Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Expertise). Performs all other related job duties as assigned.
Experience Generally requires 3 to 5 years of related experience.
Education Associate's degree in related field is required.
Skill Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work accurately while meeting multiple deadlines. Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form. Ability to handle difficult and stressful situations with critical thinking and professional composure. Ability to understand and follow instructions. Ability to exercise sound and independent judgment. Knowledge and skill in use of job appropriate technology and software applications.
