GENERAL SUMMARY:

This is a salaried position in City of Industry, CA that reports to the Sr. VP of Sales & Marketing. Key Account Manager is Chief liaison between GFF, Inc. & Top Tier single serve customers in the Retail segment. Facilitate profitable growth of GFF business with key accounts by reinforcing & leveraging GFF’s unique market position as the “innovation solution”. Coordinates project activity & builds relationships between GFF & customers with respect to promotions, new product development & maintaining superior level of service. Using primary & secondary research & Insights engages with current & new customers to jointly develop new opportunities for market expansion. Expand single serve & national account customer base by creating “new-to-the-world” food innovation & offering menu analysis & suggestions via culinary presentations.

SCOPE OF JOB FUNCTION

  • Maintain on-going dialogue with key members of customer’s Purchasing, Marketing and R&D teams to ensure alignment of objectives and expectations.
  • Serve as liaison between customer and GFF’s R&D, Manufacturing and Supply Chain teams.
  • Facilitate top-to-top interface between CEO and appropriate members of customer’s team.
  • Working with VP of Sales, develop annual business plan, revenue and profitability targets for each key account to ensure continued, profitable growth.
  • Develop and monitor KPI’s which ensure achievement of both short- and long-term customer and GFF business objectives.
  • Create and update forecast for each customer on a regular basis.
  • Monitor customer and product segment trends to ensure that GFF’s capabilities and capacity are maintained ahead of customer need.
  • Act as Project Manager/Team Leader to support new market launches, new product development, and seasonal promotional activity.
  • Expand Single Serve & Foodservice customer base by seeking out new opportunities with current & new customers.
  • Review customer menus & product and offer/ create new food innovation via culinary presentations to customer.
  • Building relations, establish and maintaining strong relationship with our customer.
  • Handling customer needs, being the main point of contact for client concerns and needs.
  • Setting sales targets for teams to meet.
  • Developing sales strategies to increase volume.
  • Tracking progress, monitoring sales performance forecasting and making regular reports.
  • Recommending new applications and sales strategies.
  • Introducing and informing clients about new products and services.
  • Negotiating contracts and pricing agreements to maximize profit.
  • Representing the company at conferences and trade shows.
  • Perform other duties as required.
Requirements:

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE

REQUIRED:

  • BA/BS Degree in Business or equivalent work experience.
  • 10 years plus proven sales result and sales management experience in consumer-packaged goods companies.
  • Experience in perishable goods and/or prepared salad industry a big plus.
  • Experience in similar role as Key Account Manager with large strategic customers.
  • Passion for customer service and energetic, can-do personality with a professional image.
  • Superior presentation skills, both verbal and written.
  • Creative hands-on approach; solution oriented and skilled negotiator.
  • Cross functional team leadership skills.
  • Strategic thinker and looks at “big picture”,
  • Goal oriented and can effectively prioritize job objectives.
