Position Summary Lincoln County Community Justice is looking to add a Parole & Probation office to our team. We're looking for someone with a great work ethic and a passion for helping out community.
The person in this role will investigate, supervise, counsel, and direct adult offenders consistent with the agency mission, statutory requirements, and the offender conditions of supervision established by releasing authorities. Duties are performed consistent with ORS 137.630.
Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities JOB FUNCTIONS Enforcement, intervention, and control: - Arrest, detain, search, and transport offenders.
Investigation: - Provide investigative services regarding offenders placed in the community by releasing authorities.
- Make court appearances and provides testimony.
Case planning: - Conduct assessments to determine offender risk/needs and case planning.
- Maintain chronological case histories.
Offender accountability: - Monitor offender compliance and progress.
- Collect urine samples for testing.
- Visit offenders in home and in the field.
- Transport offenders.
System coordination: - Coordinate treatment, housing, and community resources to assist offenders.
- Prepare legal documents and provide court testimony.
- Act as liaison with the public, Parole Board, LSA, FTO, law enforcement, and other agencies.
- Provide community education and interacts with community partners and other law enforcement.
- Coordinate treatment and community referrals for services.
- Trains other Probation Officers (PTO) as needed.
Record accuracy: - Enter offender data through the statewide CIS/OMS system.
- Maintain accurate and complete case files.
- Prepare reports.
Typical Qualifications Minimum Education Level High School/GED
Minimum Experience Level Bachelor's level education in Law Enforcement or Social Services.
Substitution Note: A satisfactory combination of education, experience, or training which demonstrates the ability to perform the job duties as determined by the County.
Certifications Specifics: Be able to acquire LEDS and CIS certification.
Ability to pass and maintain DPSST Certification and firearms certification
Driver's License Oregon Driver's License required within 30 days of hire
